Beach Weddings

The Board approved a request to hold a wedding ceremony and reception on September 9, on the beach, behind the beach front home of the groom’s family. The Board’s approval required compliance with a number of conditions, including a security deposit.

Personnel Bonuses

The Board approved end of the season staff bonuses.

Budget

Assessments: After reviewing increased expenses for landscaping, gas, and other bills in 2006, the Board set an increase of $100 per unit for 2007.

Boat slips: The Board set an increase of $50 per season for boat slip rentals for the narrow slips, and $100 for the wide slips. There is a waiting list for both types of boat slips.

Elections for Board Members

The Board adopted the following policy for elections. A letter will be sent to the homeowners each January notifying them of the number of seats that will be up for election at the upcoming Annual Meeting. It was further agreed that March 15 would be the deadline for incumbents to announce whether they are interested in running for reelection, by notifying the NSBG office, and April 7 the deadline for other candidates to announce, by notifying the NSBG office. Candidates are expected to submit a resume or statement, which will be enclosed with the Notice of Annual Meeting, which is sent out each year on April 15.

To deal with a problem brought to the Board’s attention by counsel to the Board, David Weidman, that some ballots and proxies cast on behalf of properties owned by entities had to be invalidated due to lack of information regarding who is authorized to vote on behalf of the property, the Board decided to notify all properties owned as entities (such as trusts, partnerships, corporations) rather than by individuals, of the problem, and to enclose a sample Voting Authorization Affidavit, prepared with the assistance of Counsel.

Secretary/Treasurer

Joan Churchill was elected Secretary/Treasurer, to serve in place of Dan Anderson, who stepped down from the position due to health reasons.

Property Management Services

The Board expressed its continuing interest in utilizing the services of Phyllis Donovan for administrative services. Ms. Donovan indicated that she is willing to continue to handle NSBG business, in her capacity as an employee of North Shores, Inc. The Board authorized the purchase of a new computer, for Ms. Donovan to use, in connection with NSBG business.
