The next item of business was the assignment of Board positions. After a brief discussion, a motion was made and unanimously approved, to retain Bruce Wilson as President of the Board and Helen Hoart as Treasurer. The remaining Board members will retain their current positions.

The Board discussed items presented earlier that morning at the Annual Meeting, as well new business brought to their attention by homeowners. President Wilson initiated a discussion about the need to improve the administrative support provided to the Board for the comprehensive management of the North Shores community. The discussion involved the best means of responding to the increasing workload in the North Shores office and the possible merits of either engaging a property management organization or potentially hiring an executive director to oversee some of the current responsibilities handled by board members. President Wilson explained that the current level of time and commitment required by board members has grown considerably over the past few years, and with the population of the neighborhood increasing, it may be time to consider building a greater executive capacity to support the Board. President Wilson also encouraged Board members to begin developing resident assistant officers who could help ease some of the burdens and be developed over time as successors. Potential expansion of the current support staff and a broader commitment of other residents to assist the board members should enhance the Board’s functioning and help attract community interest in serving on the North Shores Board of Governors.
