A regular meeting of the Board was held on Wednesday, August 12, 2020. Notice of the meeting was announced and posted on the North Shores website. Attending the meeting by teleconference, in compliance with the Delaware State of Emergency, were: President Bruce Wilson, Secretary Debbie Director, Treasurer Helen Hoart, Vice President Louisa Hollman and Assistant Secretary Evan Thalenberg. Also joining the meeting was Community Executive, James Allen.
The first item on the Agenda was the review and ratification of votes taken by email taken since May 28, 2020. A complete list of votes was included in the meeting Agenda and reviewed by the directors. President Wilson asked the Board if there were any questions or comments. There were no questions and Mr. Wilson moved to ratify the votes taken by email, the motion was seconded and approved by all.

President Wilson advised the Board on current construction violations that were being handled by outside counsel. Mr. Wilson continued by summarizing the advice of counsel on recent litigation involving a covenant violation. Board members concurred with the advice given by outside counsel. The Board voted to approve the use of fines for repeated construction violations.
Security issues were the next item on the agenda. President Wilson advised the Board on the increasing security measures that have been recommended in advance of the Democratic convention. Expectations that security would become more visible in the near future as Secret Service implement greater restrictions in the community and in the area of the Biden home. Mr. Wilson also advised the Board that performance standards and improved security metrics were planned by Henlopen Acres for the shared security team.
Tennis courts will remain open during the shoulder season. President Wilson indicated that the tennis courts would have a staff person present, complying with the USTA COVID-19 standards. A minimal fee will be charged for court usage. The community pool will be open on weekends during the month of September.
