A special meeting of the Board was held on Friday, September 4, 2020. Due to the short notice given in arranging the meeting, notice of the meeting announcement was waived. Attending the meeting by teleconference, in compliance with the Delaware State of Emergency, were: President Bruce Wilson, Secretary Debbie Director, Treasurer Helen Hoart, Vice President Louisa Hollman and Assistant Secretary Evan Thalenberg. Community Manager James Allen also attended the meeting.
The first item of business was the end of season staff bonuses, presented by Treasurer Helen Hoart. The bonus schedule had been circulated prior to the meeting. The Board discussed the current compensation level for members of the senior staff, the impact of COVID-19 on the staff and reporting requirements for overtime compensation. Scheduling software for the pool and beach staff, recommended by Community Executive James Allen, will be used next season. Mr. Allen will have greater oversight of the beach staff for the 2021 season. Recommended changes by Mr. Allen for the 2021 season will be presented at the fall meeting.
President Wilson moved to approve the resolution for senior staff season end bonuses, it was approved unanimously.
President Wilson presented a request to extend the building permit for 85 Harbor Road, issued in January 2019, for an additional 6 months. It was approved by all.
