Post Election Update – Board Meeting – 06/11/07
Election results – Paul Salditt, and Roy Parks were reelected. Margot Anderson was elected to the Board.
The final election results were:
Paul Salditt 109 votes
Roy G. Parks 96 votes
Margot W. Anderson 94 votes
Edward Strickler 63 votes
Robert Zadek 57 votes
In a historic first for the North Shores Board, the Board, with the election of Margot Anderson, now has 2 women on the Board at the same time. Margot Anderson joins Joan Churchill, a holdover member of the Board.
Resignations
We regret to inform you that Roy Parks and Jim Stallings both submitted letters of resignation from the Board, “effective immediately” on May 28, 2007. No reasons were stated.
Election of Officers
The Board elected the following officers:
President: Margot Anderson
Vice President: Paul Salditt
Secretary/Treasurer: Joan Churchill
Annual Party & Tribute to Dan Anderson
We were blessed with beautiful weather for the party and tribute. Congressman Mike Castle was the lead speaker at the Tribute. He made witty remarks. President James Stallings served as Master of Ceremonies. Numerous past presidents of the Board made remarks, including Fred Rockwell, Larry Katz, and Bud Simon. Dan’s daughter and son rounded out the remarks. Secretary/Treasurer Joan Churchill presented Dan with a crystal plaque inscribed “To the Father of North Shores” “in grateful appreciation from past, present and future residents.”
Phyllis Donovan
Our indefatigable office manager, Phyllis Donovan has given notice to the Board that she plans to retire at the end of September. She is giving us several months notice to help us with the transition, and will be available to help later, on occasion, as needed. Margot Anderson will lead the search effort for a replacement.
Due to Ms. Donovan’s brief hospitalization, the office had to be closed the week following Memorial Day. We regret any inconvenience this caused. She is back at work, though still recovering, and is catching up with her work.
Ballots
A large number of ballots were disqualified this year, primarily for lack of entity affidavits of voting authority. Several lacked the signatures of all owners of record. The results of the election would have been exactly the same had all the disqualified ballots been counted, so the disqualifications did not have an effect on the outcome. Still, as we want everyone who votes to be able to have their votes counted, a letter will be sent to all owners whose ballots were disqualified explaining the reason, so they can take steps to assure that future ballots are not disqualified.
